Mikaela

When she was younger Mikaela had always aspired to become a veterinarian as she had a passion for animals from a young age. She remembers accompanying her parents to vet visits with their pets and always wanting to be very involved in their care. It was during a high school careers class when a Registered Veterinary Technician came in to speak to their class that she found herself fascinated and drawn to the idea of the profession and she quickly shifted her focus to pursuing her education to become an RVT.
Mikaela joined our team here at CEAH in April 2021 as a newly graduated RVT. Admittedly she says that starting out as a new grad in a larger 24-hour emergency facility was quite intimidating at the beginning! However, through the mentorship and support of her team here she feels she has already been able to learn and grow immensely within her career. What does she love most about her day to day at CEAH? What we in the industry call the “little wins”, when a sick patient slowly starts to turn a corner whether that be taking their first few bites of food, wagging their tag or standing up for the first time to greet one of our team. Mikaela strives every day to better the lives of patients and hopes to continue to improve her skills and face every challenge with an open mind and positive attitude.
When she’s not caring for the patients of CEAH she enjoys spending time with family, friends and her adorable 5 month old Bernadoodle May! She also enjoys reading, baking, spending time at the beach and binge watching the latest TV shows.
