Dr. Amy Rojman completed her Bachelor of Science with Honours in Zoology at the University of Guelph in 2008, and went on to graduate from the Doctor of Veterinary Medicine Program at the Ontario Veterinary College in 2017. Amy spent the few years before her veterinary education working many interesting full and part time jobs including a reptile zoo educator, an elementary school presenter for Scientists in School, and even an airbrush tattoo artist at children’s parties! She worked at a small animal hospital in Leaside in Toronto for nearly 3 years as a receptionist and veterinary assistant while completing another year of studies at the University of Toronto before her acceptance into the DVM program in 2013. During veterinary school Amy and her husband Yair (a talented and experienced equine veterinarian) opened a small family mobile equine practice and Amy has been the practice manager of this successful operation since its inception in 2015. Since graduating veterinary school Amy has worked in small animal hospitals in Hamilton, Cambridge and for a non-profit clinic in Kitchener while also running a private companion animal mobile practice of her own on the side. Amy just recently realized her dream of becoming part of the highly regarded Campus Estates Animal Hospital team, where she is excited to take on new challenges and to continue to hone her skills as a small and exotic animal veterinarian. She also still works part time at the non-profit veterinary clinic in Kitchener which services only low-income clients, those on disability and shelter animals – a deep passion of hers. When she is able, she also volunteers for local charities and community veterinary programs offering services to those less fortunate seeking preventative veterinary care. Amy and her husband love to travel and continue to visit all corners of the world to experience their unique cultures (especially their cuisines!). When it’s time to relax, her affectionate kitten Unagi is right there climbing all over her while her 17 year old chinchilla Jake is running around getting into trouble. In Amy’s free time you will likely find her in the kitchen trying a daring new Gordon Ramsay recipe, in her garden tending to her flowers and delicious home-grown veggies or out exploring the beautiful estuaries, lakes and landscapes that surround her beloved hometown of Guelph.
